Lal Kitab Periods of Planets

Each planet rules different years of life and gives his / her own special results in different years. Let's see When:-

*The reason for the same are explained below.

**Duration of years in sequence starting from birth year taking 120 years as maximum life span in Kali-Yuga. Immediately after the birth, its none other than the most feared planet Saturn who rules our lives in general for first six years. From 7 to 12 years of the age, its another rated malefic Rahu who rules the life. As we move on, we will see that all nine planets complete one cycle in 35 years. This is called as 35 years round of planets in Lal Kitab.

Before we move further, it will be worthwhile to mention here that Lal Kitab mentions that there is no guarantee of life till 12th year from birth and after 70th year. Even Vedic Astrology also mentions about early childhood death or Bala-Rishtha (बालारिष्ठ) up to the age of 12 years but there is no mention of risk of life and longevity after 70th year.


Now, if we look at the division of age to different planets, it is crystal clear that first six years of life are ruled by Saturn and next six by another rated malefic Rahu causing risk of loss of longevity. In the same fashion, 70 years onwards is the beginning of third cycle of 35 years again starting from Saturn and followed by Rahu. This is taken in the context when native is bestowed life falling in full life term.

The next following planet is Ketu who could also cause problems for especially for people having short or medium life term. Its ruling period of 48 years could prove fatal in many cases.  

The other planets may be benefic planets, would also cause probems in their respective ages if become marka or killers.

*You must be wondering that there are 365 days in a year so how the total is 407 days. The reasons are as under:-

1) Pt Roop Chand Ji has left Nakshatra (28) and Rashi (12) ; Total 40.

2) He suggests that a malefic planet can not give its malefic results before their specified period and good effects of a benefic planet can not extend beyond specified age. But in between the two periods, 40 days are taken as take over periods henceforth, malefic planet can extend its malefic result for 40 days beyond its period and benefic planet can start giving its good results 40 days before its period.

3) This is similar to our mythology of keeping 40 days सूतक after the new birth in paternal family and 40 days पातक after the death of a person in the paternal family.

4) The number of days are also not exactly 365 every year so its taken as 40-43 for this period hence 407 - 43 = 364 to 367 days.

For this very reason most of the Lal Kitab Remedies are prescribed for 40 days minimum and 43 days maximum.

All the planets will continue to give their results till the specified period above until their results are modified by other planets. For example, Jupiter will continue to give results till 16 years; Sun will continue to give results till 22 years; Moon up to 24 years; Venus up to 25 years; Mars up to 32 years; Mercury - 34 years; Saturn- 36 years; Rahu 42 years and Ketu-48 years. Now lets understand how the results will be modified:-

1) Jupiter results will not be modified by other planets     

2) Sun if in conjunction with Rahu i.e. under eclipse would not be able to give any positive results.

    Sun in conjunction with Ketu will be able to give results only up to 1/2 his period i.e. 11 years.

    Sun in conjunction with other planets: no effect

3) Moon with Jupiter, Venus, Mercury and Rahu will give results till half her period: 12 years

    Moon with Saturn: 1/3 of her period that is 8 years.

5) Venus with Sun extends her effects up to 34 years

    Venus with Jupiter extends her effects up to 60 years for her most important signification     i.e. wealth.

    Venus with benefic Mars reduces her results till 8 years.

6) Mercury with Sun and Mars benefic reduces to half i.e. 17 years.

7) Saturn with Jupiter:- 18 years for Father and 27 years for Mother and Property

    Saturn with Sun:- 24 years

    Saturn with Mars or Venus:- 12 years

    Saturn with Mercury: 45 years

8) Rahu with benefic Mars: 0 years

    Rahu and Ketu together:- 45 years.

9) Ketu with Jupiter:- 40 years

    Ketu with benefic Mars: 24 years

    Ketu with Sun:- 24 years

    Ketu and Rahu together:- 45 years.

Each planet is capable of expressing his / her result at 1/2 and 1/4th period of specified age.

In the yearly horoscope, if a planet is present in its permanent house, Pt Roop Chand Ji suggests a special methodology to delineate the result of the planet. For example, when Jupiter is present in his permanent house in yearly horoscope or वर्षफल, result of that house for first four month of the year will be decided by Ketu position in the same yearly horoscope or वर्षफल. Next four months, Jupiter himself will give his results as we have already indicated above that Jupiter gives his results in the middle. Last four months, position of Sun will decide the result of the house where Jupiter is located. In the similar fashion, Sun will give his own results only in first 4 months, Moon will give her own result in last four months; Venus will give results in middle four months. As we know, Mercury gives results through out its period but it will give its result through Moon, Mars and Jupiter.

Saturn, Rahu and Ketu will give their result at the end.

As we know, the planets have natural friendship and enmity among each other. But even friendly planets can behave inimical to each other because of their placement in the horoscope. Lets understand the inherent strength of all nine planets to weigh how strongly they can oppose each other.

Sun is the strongest among all planets. If we rate 9 planets with Sun as the strongest; Sun will be rated as 9/9 i.e 1 as full strength. Moon is 8/9; Venus is 7/9; Jupiter is 6/9; Mars is 5/9; Mercury is 4/9; Saturn is 3/9; Rahu is 2/9 and lastly the weakest among all is Ketu with 1/9 strength. If you notice here, there is only change in the sequence of Lal Kitab planets. Instead of Jupiter, this is Sun who starts the chain, Sun being the head of the Solar System. When we study the same sequence in Vedic Astrology, we could never understand this sequence. Pt. Roop Chand Ji could explain the secret behind without even mentioning it. Lal Kitab is very difficult to understand in the first go so it is requested to learned readers to read the original book again and again. We are humbly trying to clarify Pandit Ji's view point and refraining ourselves from giving and imaginative explanations. Learned readers can deduce their own viewpoints.
