Direction of Vastu ruled by deities:
North direction is ruled by Lord Kuber i.e. Wealth 

South direction is ruled by Yama the lord of death. This direction is generally feared but if auspicious can bestow unlimited and unearned wealth. 

East is ruled by Lord Indra or Sun. Lord Sun or Surya is the ruler and care taker of our Universe. 

West is ruled by Varuna 

North-East or Eshan is ruled by Lord Shiva

South-East or Agni or Fire

North-West or Vayu is ruled by the god of winds 

South-West or Nairutya is ruled by ancestors 

Center is ruled by the creator "Brhama"
