Ketu and Mercury jointly rule 6th house. There are inimical to each other but if posited in 6th, they do not harm each others significations. Ketu rules over male child and Mercury signifies daughter. 6th house signifies relatives of parents, intellect, road travels, progress, sour, cow dung, honest help, surroundings of residing house, taste, muscles, loan, north, plain water, essenced flowers, shape, birds, nails, promise of progeny etc
Afflicted Ketu will be bad for its own signification only like male child. But if Mercury joins the afflicted Ketu, it adversely effects other significations also. If Ketu is placed in 6th, it will be considered as debilitated and it will give adverse results till 48 years. Sun and Jupiter are the only planets who are considered as rashi-phal planets hence there will be no remedies for other planets posited in 6th house.
Saturn placed in 6th house aspects 2nd house as an exception.
